In "Revenge of the Sith", which actress plays the Queen of Naboo?

Keisha Castle-Hughes plays the Queen of Naboo in “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.” Her character is Queen Apailana, the monarch who rules Naboo during the film’s events.

Castle-Hughes appears in the Naboo funeral sequence after Padmé Amidala’s death. The scene also features Padmé’s handmaidens and the people of Naboo, connecting the political world of the prequel trilogy with the mourning rituals seen earlier in the series. Although the role is brief, the character is identified as the reigning Queen of Naboo.

Castle-Hughes was already internationally recognized before joining “Star Wars.” At 13, she starred as Paikea in the 2002 New Zealand film “Whale Rider,” earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. That performance made her the youngest nominee in that category at the time.

The most common mix-up is Natalie Portman, who plays Padmé Amidala, a former Queen of Naboo and the planet’s senator during the film. Castle-Hughes plays the later queen, Apailana, not Padmé.
