In Return of the Jedi, what is the name of the moon where the Ewok village is located?

The story behind the answer

The Ewok village in Return of the Jedi is located on the Forest Moon of Endor.

The moon is home to the Ewoks, a small, intelligent species who live in forest settlements. The Rebel Alliance lands there because the shield generator protecting the second Death Star is hidden in the moon’s wilderness.

The Ewoks initially capture Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and their companions, but later form an alliance with them. Their participation becomes crucial during the ground battle against Imperial forces, where the unfamiliar terrain helps the smaller Rebel and Ewok forces resist the Empire.

The location is commonly shortened to “Endor,” although Endor is technically the name of the larger gas giant around which the forest moon orbits. This distinction is a frequent source of confusion. Return of the Jedi was released in 1983 and concluded the original Star Wars trilogy.
