Minnie Mink is the proprietor of Minnie’s Haberdashery in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight.
The remote Wyoming store is the main setting where the film’s travelers shelter from a blizzard. Although Minnie is absent when the story begins, her name remains attached to the establishment. Bob claims to be running the business, but Major Marquis Warren and John Ruth gradually suspect that several people inside are concealing their identities.
The film’s central mystery depends heavily on the haberdashery’s missing owners and the account of what happened before the stagecoach arrived. Minnie Mink is therefore an off-screen character whose name is important to the setting rather than a participant in the principal confrontation.
Daisy Domergue is John Ruth’s prisoner, not the proprietor. Sandy Smithers and Judy Gage are other characters connected to the lodge. The Hateful Eight was released in 2015 and was photographed in Ultra Panavision 70, a format Tarantino selected for its widescreen presentation.
