In Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, Tarantino’s character uses the alias Mr. Brown.
Tarantino appears briefly as Mr. Brown, one of the color-coded criminals recruited for a diamond robbery. The character participates in the opening diner conversation and helps establish the group’s banter before the story moves to the aftermath of the botched heist.
Reservoir Dogs assigns most of its central criminals color names, including Mr. White, Mr. Orange, Mr. Pink, Mr. Blonde, and Mr. Blue. The aliases conceal identities and make the group’s distrust more pronounced after the robbery goes wrong.
Tarantino is primarily known as the film’s writer and director, so viewers sometimes overlook his acting appearance. His role is much smaller than those of Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Steve Buscemi, and Michael Madsen, who play the principal surviving members of the crew.
