Daryl Hannah plays the assassin Elle Driver in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Volume 2.
Elle Driver is a former member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad and an enemy of the Bride. The character is recognizable by her eyepatch and by the whistled theme heard as she approaches the hospital where the Bride is recovering.
Elle’s rivalry with the Bride is tied to her jealousy of Bill’s relationship with his former lover. In the second film, she also clashes with Budd and seeks the sword made by legendary swordsmith Hattori Hanzo. Their confrontation helps drive the film’s final act.
Uma Thurman plays the Bride, while Vivica A. Fox plays Vernita Green and Lucy Liu plays O-Ren Ishii. Kill Bill: Volume 2 was released in 2004, following Volume 1 in 2003.
