Bobby Berk was the interior designer on the original five-person cast of Queer Eye.
In the Netflix revival, Berk handled interior design and home transformations. He redesigned living spaces to make them more functional, comfortable, and personal to the people featured in each episode. His work was one part of a broader makeover involving grooming, food, clothing, and emotional well-being.
The original Fab Five also included Tan France, the fashion expert; Antoni Porowski, the food and wine expert; Jonathan Van Ness, the grooming expert; and Karamo Brown, the culture expert. Their roles were distinct, although episodes often combined the areas during a larger personal transformation.
The revival premiered on Netflix in 2018. It was based on the Bravo series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, which originally aired from 2003 to 2007. The newer program broadened its subjects beyond straight men and emphasized community stories and personal change.
