Atlanta was the setting for the first season of the Netflix reboot of 'Queer Eye'.
The reboot premiered on Netflix in 2018 and introduced a new Fab Five: Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness. In the first season, they helped people in and around Atlanta improve areas such as food, clothing, grooming, culture and home design. The show presents the makeover as a broader process of personal support rather than a simple physical transformation.
The programme was a revival of the original Bravo series 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy', which premiered in 2003. The original Fab Five were Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley and Jai Rodriguez. The Netflix version shortened the title to 'Queer Eye' and expanded its emotional and social storytelling.
Later seasons moved to other locations, including Kansas City, Philadelphia and New Orleans. Because the franchise has used several cities, Atlanta is specifically the answer for season 1 of the Netflix reboot, not for the entire series.
