In Pokémon Yellow, which city gives you an Eevee?

In Pokémon Yellow, the player receives an Eevee in Celadon City. It is found in a building near the Pokémon Center, where a person gives the player the Pokémon after reaching the city and gaining access to the relevant area.

Celadon City is one of the largest locations in the Kanto region. It contains the Celadon Department Store, a Game Corner, and Erika’s Grass-type Gym. The gift Eevee is especially notable because the player cannot normally catch Eevee in the wild in the original Kanto games; receiving this gift is the standard way to obtain one.

Pokémon Yellow also gives Eevee an unusual story connection. Professor Oak originally intends Eevee to be the player’s starter Pokémon, but the rival takes it first. Oak instead gives the player Pikachu, making Yellow different from Pokémon Red and Blue, where the player chooses from Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle.

The rival’s Eevee can evolve into Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon depending on earlier battles. The player’s gifted Eevee can likewise evolve using the appropriate elemental stone.
