In Pokémon Pokopia, which character is the first Pokémon Ditto discovers?

Professor Tangrowth is the first Pokémon Ditto discovers in Pokémon Pokopia.

Professor Tangrowth serves as an early guide and remains an important companion as Ditto moves through the game’s different stages. The character helps introduce the game’s unusual approach to Pokémon life: learning, building, and restoring habitats rather than focusing on a conventional badge quest.

The name combines the familiar Pokémon Tangrowth with an academic title, giving the character a role that feels different from an ordinary wild encounter. Tangrowth is presented as knowledgeable and closely connected to the task of rebuilding the world.

Professor Tangrowth is easy to confuse with the game’s other named neighbors. Chef Dente is associated with food, DJ Rotom with music, and Tinkmaster with construction. Professor Tangrowth is the one identified by the official Pokémon material as the first Pokémon Ditto encounters.
