Cassie Cage defeats Shinnok in Mortal Kombat X’s final story battle.
Cassie is the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, and Mortal Kombat X presents her as the leader of a younger generation of Earthrealm defenders. During the climax, she confronts the corrupted Shinnok, who has become the evil being known as Corrupted Shinnok after being transformed by the Jinsei.
Cassie’s victory is important because it establishes her as more than a supporting character connected to two famous veterans. She uses her inherited green energy during the fight, a power associated with her father. Mortal Kombat X’s story then continues with Shinnok defeated but the wider conflict unresolved.
