Mortal Kombat II introduced Babality, a finishing move that transforms the defeated opponent into a baby.
Babality became one of Mortal Kombat II’s signature additions alongside Friendship moves. Instead of killing the opponent, the winning fighter performs a special input that changes the defeated character into an infant version of themselves. The result is deliberately comic and contrasts with the series’ violent Fatalities.
Babality is sometimes confused with Friendship, which makes the victor perform a humorous nonviolent action, or Animality, which transforms the victor into an animal. Babality returned in later entries, including Mortal Kombat 3 and the 2011 reboot, but it was first introduced in Mortal Kombat II.
