In Minions, Kevin, Stuart, and Bob travel to London after meeting Scarlet Overkill.
The three Minions encounter Scarlet at Villain-Con in Orlando, Florida, where she recruits them to steal Queen Elizabeth II’s crown. Their mission then takes them to London, the setting for the film’s major royal caper and much of its second half.
London gives the story recognizable landmarks and a historical backdrop. The Minions become involved with the royal family, Scarlet’s ambitious plans, and a chain of comic attempts to obtain the crown. The film uses a fictionalized version of historical Britain rather than presenting a documentary account.
Paris and Rome are plausible answers because the Minions’ long history takes them across many countries. New York City is also associated with other animated stories, but London is the city they visit for Scarlet’s crown plot.
