Scarlet Overkill is the first major human character the Minions actively seek out as a new master. Kevin, Stuart, and Bob meet her after traveling to Villain-Con, where she presents herself as an ambitious and fashionable criminal mastermind.

Scarlet recruits the trio for a mission involving the British royal family. Her goal is to steal Queen Elizabeth II’s crown and become the world’s greatest female supervillain. The plan places the Minions in the middle of a historical-looking London adventure set in 1968.

Sandra Bullock provided Scarlet’s English voice, while Jon Hamm voiced her husband, Herb Overkill. The character was created specifically for the Minions film and is separate from later villains such as Belle Bottom in Minions: The Rise of Gru.
