Otto is the Minion who joins the main group later in Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Otto is introduced as a new Minion character in the 2022 film. He is distinguished by his braces and his enthusiasm for collecting or talking about objects, including a prized pet rock. His actions become important after he is entrusted with a valuable item connected to young Gru.
The film also features familiar Minions Kevin, Stuart, and Bob. Those three travel together prominently in the earlier Minions film, while Otto is a notable addition in The Rise of Gru. Because many Minions share similar body shapes and clothing, their names are easiest to identify through distinctive accessories and personalities.
Otto should not be confused with Phil, Tim, or Mark, who are recurring Minion names from other franchise stories. The character’s name is simply Otto, not a longer title or surname.
