Naomi is the chief medical officer attached to FOXHOUND’s Shadow Moses operation. She explains the effects of the FOXDIE virus, monitors Snake’s condition, and supplies medical information during the mission. Her scientific role makes her different from Mei Ling, who handles saving and mission-data support.
Naomi’s personal history is also central to the plot. She was raised by her grandfather after the death of her parents and later became connected to Gray Fox, the cyborg ninja. Her feelings toward Gray Fox influence her actions during the Shadow Moses incident.
The character is sometimes confused with Para-Medic from Metal Gear Solid 3, who serves as Naked Snake’s medical adviser decades earlier. Naomi Hunter belongs specifically to the 1998 PlayStation game’s modern FOXHOUND storyline.
