In Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which organization does Snake’s ally Meryl command?

Meryl commands Rat Patrol Team 01 in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Rat Patrol Team 01 is a United States military unit operating in the world of Metal Gear Solid 4. Meryl Silverburgh leads the team, which includes Johnny, Ed, and Jonathan. The unit investigates military activity and becomes involved in the game’s broader conflict over the Sons of the Patriots system.

Meryl previously appeared as a soldier in the original Metal Gear Solid, where she was a member of FOXHOUND. By Metal Gear Solid 4, she has become a commanding officer in a different organization and is portrayed as a seasoned battlefield leader.

Rat Patrol Team 01 is often shortened by fans to Rat Patrol, but its formal designation is Rat Patrol Team 01. It should not be confused with FOXHOUND, Meryl’s earlier affiliation.
