In Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, what is the name of Solid Snake’s robot companion?

Metal Gear Mk. II is Solid Snake’s robot companion in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Otacon remotely controls the small, stealth-oriented robot, which helps Snake infiltrate areas, scout routes, deliver items, and interact with electronic systems. Its compact design allows it to move through spaces that would be inaccessible to a human support vehicle.

The Mk. II is not a nuclear bipedal weapon like Metal Gear REX or Metal Gear RAY. It is a support machine built for reconnaissance and infiltration rather than battlefield deterrence. Its appearance also reflects the series’ habit of contrasting enormous Metal Gear machines with smaller technological tools.

The robot is sometimes confused with Metal Gear Mk. III, a later support model used during the game’s final stages. Mk. II is the companion associated with most of Snake’s main mission.
