In Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, which character is revealed to be the former U.S. president George Sears?

The story behind the answer

In Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, the former U.S. president George Sears is revealed to be Solidus Snake.

Solidus served as the 43rd president of the United States before becoming a central figure in the game's terrorist crisis. He is also one of the Les Enfants Terribles clones created from Big Boss, placing him in the same artificial family as Solid Snake and Liquid Snake.

The character is easy to confuse with Solid Snake because all three names share the word “Solid” or “Snake.” Solidus, however, is a separate clone with his own political history and agenda. His presidency also explains why he has access to high-level knowledge about the Patriots and why the game's conflict combines personal identity with questions about government power and information control.
