In Mario Party Superstars, Mt. Minigames lets players freely play minigames without traversing a board. It separates the series’ individual contests from the traditional turn-based race for coins and Stars.
Mario Party Superstars was released for Nintendo Switch in 2021 as a celebration of earlier entries. Its 100 minigames are drawn entirely from previous Mario Party games, with 55 originating in the first three Nintendo 64 titles. Mt. Minigames provides a direct way to practice or replay that collection.
The name can be confused with older Mario Party modes. Minigame Island is associated with the original Mario Party, while Mini-Game Land appears in Mario Party 2. “Free Play” is a generic description players might use, but it is not the canonical mode name in Superstars.
Superstars also differs from the immediately preceding Super Mario Party by supporting button controls and focusing on remade classic boards and minigames. Its five boards come from the original Nintendo 64 trilogy, while Mt. Minigames concentrates on the series’ contest-based challenges.
