Coin Runners is one of the Battle Mode activities in Mario Kart World. Its central objective differs from racing: players compete in an arena while trying to gather more coins than their opponents before the round ends.
Battle Mode returns a familiar competitive side of the Mario Kart series, where success is determined by objectives rather than finishing position on a circuit. Mario Kart World also includes Balloon Battle, which involves popping opponents’ balloons, and Bob-omb Blast, which uses explosive attacks and survival rules.
Players sometimes confuse Coin Runners with ordinary races because coins also appear during standard driving. In Coin Runners, however, coin collection is the primary scoring goal. The mode is part of the game’s returning Battle Mode suite rather than its Grand Prix or Knockout Tour formats.
