Mario Kart World supports up to eight players in local wireless play.
Local wireless play connects multiple Nintendo Switch 2 systems without requiring an online match. The game allows up to two players on each participating console, making it possible to assemble an eight-player race nearby.
This is different from split-screen play on one console, which supports up to four players. It is also separate from the game's larger online and LAN capabilities, which can support races involving up to 24 drivers. Local wireless therefore sits between single-console multiplayer and the game's full-size races.
