In Jurassic World, the dinosaur trainer who leads the raptor team is Owen Grady.
Chris Pratt plays Owen, a former Navy officer who works as a behavioral researcher at the fully operating Jurassic World attraction on Isla Nublar. He has developed a cautious relationship with four Velociraptors: Blue, Charlie, Delta, and Echo. Owen uses food rewards, commands, and carefully managed proximity, while emphasizing that the animals are intelligent predators rather than domesticated pets.
Owen becomes the principal human action hero of the Jurassic World trilogy. In the first film, he helps respond when the genetically engineered Indominus rex escapes. His knowledge of raptor behavior becomes especially important when the hybrid manipulates and attacks other dinosaurs. Owen is not the same character as Alan Grant, the paleontologist from the original films, or Ian Malcolm, the mathematician. The character returns in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion.
