In "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny", who plays the role of Helena Shaw?

In "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," Phoebe Waller-Bridge plays Helena Shaw. Helena is Indiana Jones's goddaughter and the daughter of his longtime friend and fellow archaeologist, Basil Shaw.

Helena enters the story while Indy is teaching at a New York college in 1969. She is searching for the Antikythera, an ancient device also known as the Dial of Destiny, which her father studied obsessively. Unlike Indy, Helena is motivated partly by money and has developed a reputation as an antiquities smuggler and grifter.

The role was written specifically for Waller-Bridge, whose fast, witty delivery helped define Helena's personality. Director James Mangold cited classic screwball and adventure heroines as influences, while Waller-Bridge performed many of her own stunts. Helena is sometimes confused with Marion Ravenwood, Indy's earlier romantic partner, but they are different characters. Marion is played by Karen Allen, while Helena is played by Waller-Bridge.
