In Happy Home Paradise, Wardell is the manatee who works at Paradise Planning.
Wardell is one of the two characters introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ paid expansion, Happy Home Paradise, released on November 5, 2021. He works alongside Niko, a monkey, at the resort’s Paradise Planning operation. The player joins the business as a vacation-home designer and gradually unlocks new design abilities.
A common mix-up is confusing Wardell with Lottie. Lottie is the otter who manages Paradise Planning and serves as the player’s supervisor. Niko is also an employee, but he is the smaller monkey associated with construction and infrastructure work. Digby is not part of Happy Home Paradise’s Paradise Planning staff.
Wardell also operates the Paradise Planning shop, where players can spend Poki, the expansion’s workplace currency, on furniture and other items. His calm personality and distinctive manatee design made him one of the DLC’s most recognizable new characters.
