In Gran Turismo Sport, the Nations Cup is the championship in which players represent their countries.
The Nations Cup formed one half of the FIA-certified Gran Turismo Championships. Its drivers competed under national representation, so a player’s country was central to the identity of the competition. This made it the national counterpart to the Manufacturers Series, in which drivers represented an automobile marque instead.
The championship was not a conventional single-player campaign or a car-class endurance ladder. Gran Turismo Sport used online qualification and regional competition to identify leading players before the world-final stage. The format helped connect everyday Sport Mode racing with a structured international esports championship.
The Manufacturers Cup is the most tempting wrong answer because it was held alongside the Nations Cup and also involved elite drivers. Its defining feature, however, was manufacturer representation: competitors raced for brands such as Lexus, Toyota, or other participating marques. GT Academy was a separate driver-development and competition concept, while Endurance Series describes a race format rather than this country-based championship.
