He takes it home, treating the inanimate advertisement as though it were a real romantic partner.
The scene is played as an exaggerated parody of Peter’s impulsive behavior. He sings Billy Ocean’s “Suddenly” while imagining that he and the cutout are in love. The joke escalates when Chris takes the cutout into his room, leading Peter to believe that Kathy has betrayed him. Peter then damages the cardboard figure and buries it in the yard as if he has committed a crime.
