Tej Lalvani joined Dragon's Den in 2017 and was described as the programme's first Asian Dragon.
Lalvani is a British businessman best known as chief executive of Vitabiotics, the health-supplement company founded by his father, Kartar Lalvani. Under his leadership, Vitabiotics remained a major private British supplement business, with products sold under brands including Wellman and Perfectil.
He joined the BBC panel for the fifteenth series and became known for assessing products through both their commercial potential and their route to market. His corporate background differed from that of several Dragons who had built careers mainly through retail or property.
Touker Suleyman is also of Asian heritage, but he joined the show earlier, in 2015. The wording about Lalvani refers to the programme's on-screen panel history and should not be confused with claims about every investor or guest connected with the wider format.
