In Dragons' Den, which inventor developed the Tangle Teezer detangling hairbrush?
Answer
Shaun Pulfrey
Answer
Shaun Pulfrey
In Dragons' Den, Shaun Pulfrey developed the Tangle Teezer detangling hairbrush.
Pulfrey, a hair colourist and inventor, created the brush after observing that conventional brushes could pull and damage tangled hair. His design used flexible teeth arranged to move through knots rather than forcing them out with a rigid bristle pattern.
He appeared on Dragons' Den in 2007 and secured investment from former Dragon Theo Paphitis. The appearance helped give the product national attention, although the business later grew substantially through international sales and direct retail distribution.
The Tangle Teezer is often confused with an ordinary paddle brush because both are used on hair. Its distinguishing feature is the specialised flexible-tooth design. The company subsequently released several versions for different hair types and uses, but Shaun Pulfrey remains the inventor most closely associated with the original product.
