Sara Davies founded the stationery and craft company Crafter's Companion before joining Dragons' Den as an investor.
Davies created Crafter's Companion in 2005 while she was a student at York University. The business began with a product designed to help crafters make envelopes for handmade cards, then expanded into tools, materials and other craft supplies sold internationally.
Her entrepreneurial experience is central to her role on the programme. Unlike some dragons who became known primarily through property, food or retail, Davies entered the panel with a background in a specialist creative-products company built from an original customer problem.
Crafter's Companion is sometimes confused with Davies's television investment activities, but the company is the business she founded. Her later role as a dragon does not change the earlier founding date or the company's craft and stationery focus.
