In Dragon's Den, which Dragon is also known by the title Lord Sugar?
Answer
Alan Sugar
Answer
Alan Sugar
Alan Sugar is the Dragon also known by the title Lord Sugar.
Sugar was created a life peer in 2009 and took the title Baron Sugar of Clapton in the London Borough of Hackney. In public life he is commonly called Lord Sugar, while his business and television career began under the name Alan Sugar.
Before his appearances connected with Dragon's Den, Sugar built Amstrad, an electronics company founded in 1968. He later became widely recognised as the employer figure on The Apprentice. His title therefore belongs to the same businessman who founded Amstrad and appeared in the Dragon's Den investment format.
The title is not the name of a separate investor or a television character. “Lord Sugar” and “Alan Sugar” refer to one person, although “Baron Sugar of Clapton” is the formal peerage title associated with his membership of the House of Lords.
