In Dragon's Den, the entrepreneur associated with inventing the Tangle Teezer detangling hairbrush is Shaun Pulfrey.
Pulfrey developed the product after working as a hair colourist and observing how conventional brushing could pull and damage tangled hair. The Tangle Teezer uses a distinctive arrangement of flexible teeth intended to move through knots with less tugging than many ordinary brushes.
He appeared on Dragon's Den seeking investment, but the pitch did not result in a deal. The company later grew into an international beauty brand, selling detangling brushes in multiple shapes and sizes for different hair types and uses.
The product is sometimes loosely described as a “hairbrush,” but its defining claim is its detangling design. Its success after the television appearance is another example of a company developing beyond the immediate result of a televised pitch.
