Tangle Teezer was invented by Shaun Pulfrey in 2007 and later became a global hairbrush brand.
Pulfrey developed the detangling hairbrush after working as a hairstylist and observing how conventional brushes could pull and damage hair. He presented the idea on Dragon's Den, where the product did not secure an investment from the dragons at the time.
Despite that setback, Tangle Teezer went on to become a major international consumer brand. Its success is often used as an example of a Dragon's Den pitch that did not receive a deal but later achieved substantial commercial growth.
The product can be confused with ordinary wide-toothed combs or other detangling brushes, but Tangle Teezer is the brand name associated with Pulfrey’s invention. The show’s outcome and the company’s later performance are separate facts: rejection in the den did not prevent the product from succeeding.
