The room where entrepreneurs make their main presentation in Dragon's Den is called the den.
The den is the programme's central set, where entrepreneurs enter, state their offer and answer questions from the investors. Its name supplies the show's title: the investors are called Dragons, and the entrepreneurs must enter their den to seek a deal.
The presentation normally includes a requested investment amount and an offered percentage of the business. The Dragons then ask about sales, costs, profit, intellectual property and valuation. An entrepreneur may receive offers, be asked to change the terms or leave without an investment.
The den should not be confused with the areas used for interviews, preparation or follow-up discussion. It is specifically the main pitch room shown on screen. The dramatic set is a television device, but the financial questions are based on ordinary investment considerations.
