In Disney’s 1998 animated film Mulan, Mushu is the former family guardian who becomes Mulan’s guide.
The Fa family’s ancestors send Mushu to awaken the Great Stone Dragon, but the guardian statue does not answer. Mushu therefore takes responsibility for helping Mulan after she joins the army, presenting himself as a powerful protector despite his small size.
Mushu provides advice, comic relief, and practical assistance throughout the story. He helps Mulan maintain her disguise, encourages her during training, and remains involved in the confrontation with Shan Yu’s forces.
Mushu is voiced in the English-language version by Eddie Murphy, but the question asks for the character’s name rather than the voice actor. Cri-Kee and Khan are Mulan’s animal companions, not family guardians.
