In Despicable Me 3, what is the name of the villain voiced by Trey Parker?

The story behind the answer

In Despicable Me 3, the villain voiced by Trey Parker is Balthazar Bratt.

Balthazar Bratt is a former child television star whose career ended when he reached puberty. He remains obsessed with the 1980s character he played, and his crimes imitate the plots and style of his canceled show. His costume, shoulder pads, soundtrack, and dance moves deliberately draw on popular 1980s imagery.

Bratt steals the Dumont diamond and plans to use it in a giant attack on Hollywood. Gru and Dru pursue him while the Minions are dealing with their own rebellion against Gru’s decision to stop being a villain.

Trey Parker, co-creator of South Park, provides Bratt’s voice. The character’s name is a pun on the actor brat stereotype and emphasizes his unresolved childhood fame. Despicable Me 3 was released in 2017 and directed by Kyle Balda, Pierre Coffin, and Eric Guillon.
