Werner Ziegler returns to Germany before his death in Better Call Saul.
Werner is a German engineer hired to supervise construction of Gus Fring’s underground meth laboratory. While working in Albuquerque, he becomes homesick and secretly leaves the secure site to spend time with his wife, Margarethe.
Mike tracks Werner down and brings him back, but Werner’s escape compromises the secrecy of the construction project. Gus ultimately orders Mike to kill him, and Mike carries out the order in season 4.
