Jimmy McGill joins the law firm Davis & Main after leaving HHM-related work in Better Call Saul.
Davis & Main is a major Albuquerque firm that represents Sandpiper Crossing in the elder-law class-action case. Kim helps bring Jimmy to the firm because his discovery of the Sandpiper billing scheme has become valuable to the case.
The job gives Jimmy a formal office, a company car, and a large salary, but the corporate environment quickly clashes with his personality and working style. His unauthorized television commercial becomes a major source of conflict with the firm’s management.
Davis & Main is distinct from Schweikart & Cokely, the firm where Kim later works, and from HHM, Chuck and Howard’s firm. Jimmy’s brief employment there is an important step in his movement away from conventional legal practice.
