Evan Davis has presented BBC's Dragons' Den since its first series.
Davis is a British economist, journalist and broadcaster who became especially associated with the programme's formal pitch-room interviews. His role is to introduce entrepreneurs, explain the investment proposals and guide viewers through negotiations with the Dragons.
The presenter is separate from the investors. The Dragons change over time, while Davis has remained the programme's familiar host. Adrian Chiles presented the first series of The Apprentice UK, which is a common source of confusion because both shows feature business and entrepreneurship.
Davis has also presented BBC Radio 4's Today programme and the current-affairs programme Newsnight. His Dragons' Den work helped make the pitch format accessible by clarifying valuations, equity offers and investment terms for viewers.
