In BBC’s Dragons’ Den, which Dragon joined the panel in 2006 during series 3?

The story behind the answer

Deborah Meaden joined the BBC television series Dragons’ Den in 2006 during its third series.

Meaden replaced Rachel Elnaugh, who had been one of the programme’s original Dragons. Before joining television, Meaden built a career in business and investment, including work connected with her family’s leisure business.

Her Dragons’ Den role made her particularly associated with investments in consumer products, tourism, hospitality and growing family businesses. She is also known for her direct questioning of entrepreneurs about sales, margins and company value.

The UK programme has changed its panel repeatedly, so joining dates can easily be confused with the dates on which individual Dragons left. Meaden’s 2006 arrival is distinct from the later additions of investors such as Sara Davies and Touker Suleyman.
