In BBC Dragons' Den, which Dragon was known for founding the pallet network Pall-Ex?

The story behind the answer

Hilary Devey was the Dragon known for founding the pallet network Pall-Ex.

Pall-Ex is a freight-distribution network designed to move palletised goods through a network of regional transport operators. Devey founded the company in 1996 after identifying an opportunity to coordinate smaller freight loads more efficiently across the United Kingdom.

Her logistics background distinguished her from Dragons whose main businesses were in retail, fashion, finance or manufacturing. Devey’s experience building Pall-Ex helped establish her reputation as a self-made business leader before she appeared on television.

Pall-Ex is sometimes confused with a conventional parcel-delivery company. Its core model concerns palletised freight and a network of hauliers rather than ordinary consumer letters or small packages. Devey’s Dragons' Den role came later, when she joined the panel in 2012.
