In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Sýnin is the Viking raven accompanying Eivor.
Sýnin serves as Eivor's bird companion and helps with reconnaissance in the game's open world. The raven can survey areas, identify points of interest, and support the player's understanding of nearby objectives without directly attacking enemies.
The name comes from Old Norse tradition. Sýnin is commonly translated as “vision” or “sight,” fitting the bird's scouting role. Valhalla's raven replaces the eagle companions used in several earlier Assassin's Creed games, while retaining the series' aerial-observation mechanic.
Huginn and Muninn are plausible alternatives because they are the famous ravens associated with Odin in Norse mythology. They are not Eivor's named companion in Valhalla. Eivor can be played with a male or female presentation, but Sýnin remains the raven's name in either version.
