In Assassin’s Creed Unity, which Parisian Assassin is the game’s protagonist?

The story behind the answer

Arno Dorian is the Parisian Assassin who serves as Assassin’s Creed Unity’s protagonist.

Arno is drawn into the Assassin Brotherhood during the French Revolution after the death of his adoptive father, François de la Serre. His personal investigation becomes connected to a wider struggle involving the French Templars and the political upheaval in Paris.

The game takes place in Paris from 1789 onward and emphasizes dense crowds, cooperative missions, and detailed recreations of landmarks such as Notre-Dame. Arno’s story also includes his relationship with Élise de la Serre, who is a Templar and the daughter of his adoptive father.

Élise is therefore a major character but not the protagonist. Jacob Frye belongs to Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, which is set in Victorian London, while Arbaaz Mir stars in the graphic novel Assassin’s Creed: Brahman.
