In Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Jacob Frye becomes the playable Assassin in the game's opening sequence.
Syndicate follows twin Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye in London during the Industrial Revolution. The opening sequence introduces Jacob as the character the player controls first, before the game expands into a dual-protagonist structure that lets players switch between the siblings for many activities.
Jacob is impulsive and focused on building a gang and confronting Templar influence directly. Evie is more methodical and often concentrates on finding an Isu artifact connected to the First Civilization. Their contrasting personalities are reflected in distinct skill trees and equipment preferences.
The two siblings share the main campaign, so Jacob is not the only playable character in Syndicate. Evie becomes equally important and is playable throughout much of the story. The specific clue is the opening sequence, where Jacob's introduction comes before the game's broader ability to alternate between the twins.
