Jacob and his twin sister Evie are the main protagonists of Syndicate. The game begins with Jacob operating in London, where the twins challenge Templar control during the Industrial Revolution. Players can later switch between the siblings, but Jacob is the character used in the opening sequence before the campaign fully develops its dual-protagonist structure.
Jacob is generally associated with direct combat and street-level gang activity, while Evie is more closely associated with stealth and the search for Pieces of Eden. Both are members of the Assassin Brotherhood and work with allies including Henry Green. The twins are sometimes treated as interchangeable because they share the campaign, but each has distinct missions, skills, and narrative emphasis.
