London is controlled by the Templars when the Frye twins arrive in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.
The game is set in London in 1868, during the Industrial Revolution. Twins Jacob and Evie Frye leave their home region and enter the city to challenge the Templar Grand Master Crawford Starrick, whose organization controls major institutions and criminal networks.
The historical campaign uses several recognizable Victorian locations, including the City of London, Westminster, Whitechapel, and the River Thames. Jacob focuses heavily on recruiting and leading the Rooks, while Evie investigates pieces of Isu technology and works to stop Starrick’s plans.
London is not merely a backdrop: the city’s industrial expansion, railways, factories, and class divisions directly shape the missions. Syndicate also introduced a grappling launcher and a horse-drawn carriage system designed around faster movement through the crowded capital.
