In Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Jacob and Evie Frye are Assassins at the start of the story. The twins travel to London in 1868 to challenge Templar influence and expand the Brotherhood during the Industrial Revolution.
Jacob and Evie are trained members of the Assassin Brotherhood rather than ordinary criminals or private investigators. Their methods differ: Jacob favors direct action and gang operations, while Evie often emphasizes stealth, investigation, and the search for precursor artifacts. Both remain aligned with the Assassin cause.
The siblings establish and lead the Rooks, a street gang that helps them contest London’s districts. They oppose the Blighters, a rival gang connected to Templar power. The criminal-gang framework can make their occupations seem ambiguous, but the Rooks are an instrument of their larger Assassin campaign.
Syndicate is set in Victorian London and includes historical figures such as Queen Victoria, Charles Darwin, and Alexander Graham Bell. The Frye twins are fictional protagonists. The game’s setting is specifically 1868, placing it after the events of the Industrial Revolution had transformed London’s population, transport, and working life.
