In Assassin's Creed Rogue, which former Assassin becomes a Templar hunter of his old Brotherhood?

The story behind the answer

In Assassin's Creed Rogue, Shay Cormac becomes a Templar hunter of his former Brotherhood.

Shay begins the game as an Assassin operating in the North Atlantic during the eighteenth century. After a catastrophic mission connected to an ancient precursor site, he loses faith in the Assassins' methods and leaves the Brotherhood.

Shay then joins the Templars and hunts former allies, giving Rogue its unusual perspective on the series' central conflict. The game explores the North Atlantic, the River Valley, and New York, and its events connect directly to the wider Kenway-era storyline.

Haytham Kenway is a Templar grand master and Shay's ally, but he is not the former Assassin who changes sides. Arno Dorian is the Assassin protagonist of Unity, while Charles Lee is a Templar antagonist in Assassin's Creed III.
