In Assassin's Creed Rogue, which character changes allegiance from Assassin to Templar?

The story behind the answer

Shay Patrick Cormac changes allegiance from Assassin to Templar in Assassin's Creed Rogue. He begins the game as a young Assassin working with the Colonial Brotherhood during the eighteenth century.

After a disastrous mission connected to an ancient precursor artifact, Shay becomes disillusioned with the Brotherhood's methods and goals. He eventually joins the Templars and hunts former allies, making Rogue unusual within the series because the player experiences the conflict from the Templar side.

Haytham Kenway is a Templar from Assassin's Creed III, but he does not undergo Shay's Assassin-to-Templar transition. Liam O'Brien is Shay's former Assassin companion, while Arno Dorian belongs to Unity. Rogue's central reversal is specifically Shay's transformation and the change in perspective it creates.
