In Assassin's Creed Rogue, what is the name of the Assassin who defects and becomes a Templar?

The story behind the answer

Shay Cormac is the Assassin who defects and becomes a Templar in Assassin’s Creed Rogue.

Shay begins the game as a member of the Colonial Brotherhood, working with mentors including Achilles Davenport. After a disastrous mission connected to an earthquake in Lisbon, Shay rejects the Assassins’ willingness to pursue dangerous Precursor artifacts and becomes their enemy.

He later joins the Templars under Haytham Kenway. The game follows Shay’s campaign against former Assassin allies, presenting the conflict from a Templar perspective rather than the usual Assassin viewpoint.

Shay’s ship is the Morrigan, and naval combat is a major feature of Rogue. He should not be confused with Adéwalé, a former Assassin and protagonist of Freedom Cry, or with Haytham, who is already a Templar at the start of Rogue.
