Ezio and Altaïr share the story of Assassin’s Creed Revelations.
The game follows Ezio Auditore in the early sixteenth century as he travels to Constantinople to investigate the Masyaf keys and the legacy of Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad. Through those keys, Ezio experiences scenes from Altaïr’s later life and leadership of the Levantine Assassin Brotherhood.
This structure makes Revelations a direct bridge between two major eras of the franchise. Ezio is the active protagonist in the main historical setting, while Altaïr’s sequences reveal what happened after the events of the first Assassin’s Creed.
The game also concludes Ezio’s main trilogy and develops the modern-day story of Desmond Miles. It should not be confused with Assassin’s Creed II, which focuses on Ezio, or the first game, which focuses mainly on Altaïr.
